Kareena Kapoor Khan who made her comeback with ‘Veere Di Wedding’ (2018) after maternity leave, says her role in Karan Johar’s forthcoming film ‘Takht’ will be different to her character ‘Poo’ in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ (K3G) (2001).
Reported by Hindustan Times, Kapoor Khan explains there is a lot of preparation work to be undertaken for ‘Takht’. “It’s a different film because I’ve not really done a period film like this. There will be a certain amount of dialect preparation, look tests that will happen. I’m also working with Karan after a very long time so I’m very excited.” Bebo adds that since ‘K3G’ (2001), Johar has evolved as a director and she to has “completely changed as an artiste”.
“Hopefully it’ll be a part which will be remembered because it’s socially relevant. It’s a strong character. The best part is it’ll be completely different than what I did in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham as Poo,” says Kapoor Khan.
‘Takht’, which is due to release next year, is a tale based on two brothers in the Mughal era, who end up in battle for the throne. The film boasts an impressive line up with, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
