After being in the news these last few days for walking out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’, Kareena Kapoor has landed a part in Prakash Jha’s ‘Rajneeti’ (2010) sequel.

Kapoor will have an image makeover for the role, similar to Katrina Kaif’s look in the original part of the film, to play the lead as Indian Prime Minister. Ajay Devgn will star opposite Kapoor. The film goes on the floors by the end of this year.

A source told Mid-Day, “Jha and Kareena have spoken. The necessary formalities need to be worked out. For this role, she is all set to do some major research and has already asked her team to shortlist the names of all major female prime ministers all across the world. She will then do research about their lives and their mannerisms. She does not want her glamorous image to overshadow her performance in the film.”

Earlier this week, Kapoor opted out of ‘Ram Leela’ after Bhansali demanded more dates from her to shoot the film. She was unable to do so due to a clash with other projects and monetary issues.
