It۪s natural for the general public to get excited when a superstar is present in the vicinity but caution always has to be taken in case crowds get unruly.

Whilst shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar۪s highly anticipated Heroine۪, Kareena Kapoor got stuck in her vanity van in Andheri (Mumbai) and extra security had to be called in to manage crowds that got a little out of hand. Word is that there were nearly 500 people surrounding the shoot at one point and getting dangerously close to where Kapoor۪s van was parked.

They had found out that Kareena was shooting here. Since we only had her regular security with us, we got a bit worried. The fact that the crowd was trying to inch closer to the sets was scary, but Kareena۪s security was of paramount importance,۝ said a source to theHindustan Times.

That۪s when producers UTV decided to bring in additional security personnel to manage the situation.

Within half an hour, the guards arrived on the sets. We didn۪t want to take a chance till they got there, so we didn۪t allow Kareena to leave her vanity van. It was parked away from the set and was being guarded by a few crew members. Since the shooting was supposed to finish in about three hours, everyone was confident that things would happen quietly. But due to the chaos, we got delayed too,۝ the source went on to add.

Rumoured to be modelled on the lives of Madhubala and Hollywood diva Marilyn Monroe, Heroine۪ recounts the story of a schizophrenic actress Mahi Arora (played by Kapoor), and attempts to expose audiences to what really happens in the lives of India۪s showbiz sweethearts.

The film is scheduled to release on 21st September (which incidentally is also Kapoor۪s birthday) and also stars Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda and Shahana Goswami with Ranvir Shorey and Helen in cameos.
