Kareena Kapoor Khan ups security after threats

Kareena Kapoor Khan has reportedly upped her security after death threats from religious groups.

The news comes, two weeks after a ‘love Jihad’ message in an Indian journal, which published a photo showing half of the actress’ face covered by a niqab.

NDTV reports that Khan has hired two bodyguards and tightened security at her Bandra residence.

A source said, “With the ongoing love jihad debate, Kareena is concerned about her safety. Unlike a few other stars, she never felt the need to be escorted or chaperoned, until now.”

Another source said that the security was hired as a precautionary.
