Kareena Kapoor Khan to produce documentary on women empowerment

When Priyanka Chopra and Freida Pinto joined hands for ‘Girl Rising’, it was no surprise that they took some well-known names to give their cause an even bigger voice. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan is also going to produce a documentary on women empowerment which is being made by her friend Aditi Kapoor.

The documentary is going to be shot in October and the story will surround a girl who finds it difficult to get the right education and become independent. It is a real-life story. Mumbai Mirror report a source stating, “Kareena and Aditi studied together at Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. When Aditi began discussing her script, Kareena jumped on board towards the end of August. She’s a hands-on producer, has already had one narration and suggested some additions to the script. These include recent changes in teaching methods in government schools, use of technology to improve education and interactions with organisations working towards making people and celebrities more aware of problems faced by women. Bebo has definitely done her homework on this one”.

Aditi will be marking her debut as director but previously she is of a technical background.
