Kareena Kapoor Khan has allegedly angered producer Ekta Kapoor for rejecting the widely reported Mohammed Azharuddin biopic.
PinkVilla reports that Khan’s decision not to do the film has not gone down too well with Kapoor. The online publication reports that she refused to portray the role of Sangeeta Bijlani due to her close relationship with Salman Khan and Bijlani. Other reports add that she had already allocated her dates to Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ and doing both films together was impossible. A replacement for Kareena will be confirmed by the end of January.
Tanveer Bookwala, Chief Creative Officer of Balaji, told Mumbai Mirror, “We hadn’t finalised the actress to play this role. In our construct, we are skewing a much younger actress and still bouncing around ideas internally as to who would play this feisty character.”
The film is set to go on the floors in mid-2015. It also stars Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai. It is directed by Tony D’Souza.
