Kareena Kapoor Khan replacing other actresses in Rohit Shetty sequels is becoming a norm and so no wonder speculation is rife that could Khan replace Deepika Padukone in the sequel of ‘Chennai Express’ if ever the opportunity rose.
Talking at the trailer launch of his film ‘Singham Returns’, Shetty said, “I take her [Kareena Kapoor Khan] in only sequels.” Responding to that, Kareena, who replaces Kajal Aggarwal in the sequel of ‘Singham’, said, “So you will be signing me for the sequel of Chennai Express as well, right? The response led to silence and smiles at the event. Shetty added, Well, in case of a sequel, Chennai Express will have to be called Chennai Returns.
The blockbuster ‘Chennai Express’, which released last year proved to be a runaway success at the box office. It starred Paudkone opposite Shah Rukh Khan. While there have been rumnours of a sequel to the action comedy, Shetty has always denied speculation.
Do you think Khan replacing Padukone in ‘ Chennai Express’ sequel will be a good move? Or should Shetty stick to the original?
