Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Udta Punjab’ will see the debut of Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh in Indian cinema. His co-star in the film, Kareena Kapoor Khan, has said that he is the “surprise package” of the film.
Kapoor Khan told TOI, “I’m excited to work with Diljit as I’m a big fan of him. His videos are amazing and he is the surprise package of the film. People will go mad, he is that good in the film”.
She continued, “He’s a huge star in Punjab… During our shooting, he would come to me and ask for a photograph with him to prove to his fans that he was actually doing a film with Kareena. But I told him, ‘I’m a big fan of yours’, and this embarrassed him a lot”.
The film delves into the drug problems in the Punjab state and also stars Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor.
