Karan Johar is set to turn director again, his first after the success of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ in 2016. In an interview previously, Johar confirmed that he had locked the screenplay of the next.

Rumours are rife that Ranveer Singh will take on the male lead in the mega star-studded movie, which will go on the floors next year. KoiMoi reports that Singh will be joined in the film by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt. While, Khan will take on the role of Singh’s sister, Bhatt will play the role opposite the flamboyant star. A second male is also set to be cast soon, with rumours that Ranbir Kapoor has already turned down the role.

A source informed KoiMoi, “Karan earlier wanted Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh to play brothers but Ranbir turned it down later. He had said yes first but then he changed his mind. Karan doesn’t know if he changed his mind because it’s a negative role or because he doesn’t want to do a two-hero film with Ranveer.”

The source added, “Most heroes don’t want to do a two-hero film so he is having a problem casting that role. Karan wants somebody younger than Ranveer so he can’t even approach other big actors.”
