Karanvir Bohra to recreate Rajiv & Sonia Gandhi love story

It has emerged that Karanvir Bohra is set to make a short film around the love story between Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, titled ‘Ijazat’.

Reported in the Deccan Chronicle, Bohra shares why he’s making this film. “It is a simple story, which is made to create a different type of content. I’ve always been fascinated with classic love stories of the ’50s and the ’60s. They don’t write such stories or make such movies anymore.”

Further adding,  “I was browsing through the Net, when I chanced upon the show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, with late Rajiv Gandhi. I was mesmerised by the way he spoke and the way he carried himself with such elegance. The way he would speak about Sonia Gandhi, how they met and how he mustered up the courage to seek permission from his mother.”

‘Jazbaa’ (2015) actress Priya Banerjee will be staring in this film, which will be produced in English and Italian.
