With a handful shows on Indian television coming to an end this month, rumours emerged that ZEE TV’s popular fiction ‘Qubool Hai’ was also under the scanner but BizAsia can exclusively confirm that there is no truth in such speculation.

According to lead actor, Karanvir Bohra, the show’s future is safe and could remain on-air for another year. ‘Qubool Hai’ has had a turbulent few months after the exit of original actor Karan Singh Grover, followed by his replacement Raqesh Vashisth. However, since Bohra’s involvement in the show and the introduction of new storylines, the show’s fortunes seem to have changed. ‘Qubool Hai’ now ranks as one of the most watched shows on Indian television.

Talking exclusively to BizAsia, Bohra firstly denied rumours that he was leaving the show. He said, “No, I am not leaving Qubool Hai. I love playing Aahil. As far as I’ve been told, the show will go on for another year.”

Talking about the constant rumours surrounding the show’s future, he added, “Expected that Qubool Hai was be extended temporarily but it started doing well so now it will go on until the production/channel want it to. I am really happy that with this show I was able to break my image of negative/grey shades type of actor. I love playing the romantic hero and I am keen to continue doing so! Every once in awhile rumours keep coming up about Qubool Hai shutting but they are not true.”

‘Qubool Hai’ is aired weekdays at 20:30 on ZEE TV UK.
