Karanjee Singh Gaba speaks on being first-ever Sikh model to walk the ramp for Louis Vuitton
Model Karanjee Singh Gaba was the first-ever Afghan Sikh model to walk on the runway for famous brand Louis Vuitton in a spring event that showcased the late great Virgil Abloah’s Spring/Summer 2022 men’s collection.
During the campaign, he was featured wearing a bright pink suit paired with a black turban. As soon as he shared his pictures on the official Instagram handle, the comments section was flooded with people congratulating him. Along with this, various famous publications also interviewed him to know about his struggle and journey to reach this point of success, reports TrueScoop.
In on interview the model spoke about how he got into the industry, and also spoke about his school days where he was constantly bullied by friends on the type of personality he had which was really different from everyone else. This in turn made him hesitant to try out the field of modelling.
And then when when he first got a call to model Louis Vuitton’s campaign, he was in a state of shock. He said, “I couldn’t believe it and didn’t know that I was the first-ever Sikh model to get this opportunity.” He then added that once his friend showed him a book by Tim Walker, who is known as one of the most renowned photographers in the world, and then two months later, he was photographed by Walker himself.
