Karan Tacker confirmed to host AVTA 2017

Television heartthrob, Karan Tacker has been confirmed to host this year’s Asian Viewers Television Awards (AVTA), which take place in London, this December.

AVTA 2017, now in its fourth year, will see Tacker return as host of the prestigious ceremony. Tacker has not been seen on television since his hosting duties ended on ‘Nach Baliye 8’ earlier this year. However, he has worked on a number of digital projects and is rumoured to be working towards his debut film.

AVTA 2017 remains the UK’s only event to celebrate Asian television. The event is helmed by media legend, Rajan Singh.

Interestingly, this year’s nominations include a mixture of Star Plus, ZEE TV and Colors shows and talent. Sony Entertainment Television has been snubbed completely. What made a difference to the nominations process this year is that submission of nominations were geo-locked to the UK territory only. Top programmes such as ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’, ‘Naamkarann’ and ‘Meri Durga’ did not make the list year, despite a huge following in UK ratings.

AVTA 2017 takes place in a Central London hotel on Saturday 2nd December 2017.
