Karan Singh Grover on why he announced divorce before ‘Alone’ trailer

Today saw the launch of the first official trailer of ‘Alone’ which marks the debut of Karan Singh Grover on the big screen. The actor, in what was perhaps a little surprising to many, announced his divorce with his wife Jennifer Winget yesterday, just a day before the trailer was unveiled.

Talking about his decision to do so in that timing, the debutante told Mumbai Mirror, “A lot of people were concerned about my personal life. I had not spoken to anyone directly on this matter earlier. So, I thought I would confirm that what they had heard was true. I don’t want to elaborate on this further. As I said, the decision has been mutually agreed upon and the reasons are too personal to share.” He also denied being the reason behind ‘Alone’ co-star Bipasha Basu’s split with boyfriend Harman Baweja.

He added, “I just wanted all the speculations and assumptions to end. I’d never spoken on this subject. On Monday night I took to Twitter to express what I thought and felt. I wouldn’t want to speak any further on this.” He also said the reason for his tweet was not because he wanted people to know he was single.

It is hard to miss that Singh Grover has a physique that the female fans would die for. He commented, “Getting a fit body wasn’t really a requirement of the script. But since Alone is my debut film and I was working with a director (Bhushan Patel) with a vision. I thought why not go a few extra miles on the workouts. Today I’m glad I did.”

When asked how he would feel that he would be becoming a sex symbol post the release, the actor laughs, “I’m hoping I will become one, if not I’ll keep trying.”
