Karan Singh Grover: “I’ve been rejected a lot of times”

His fan following is one of the biggest in the Indian TV industry and seems to be a favourite amongst his peers and those he works with. However like many, Karan Singh Grover had a pretty hard time starting out. Talking to the media about his experiences, the actor expressed how difficult it initially was.

“You know I have been rejected a lot of times. It wasn’t easy for me to get into the industry,” SpotboyE reports the actor explain.

He went on to add, “Like I remember when I used to go for TV shows they used to reject me saying, ‘No, you have a very hard face, you should try for modelling instead. And when I used to go for modelling, they used to tell me, ‘Your face is very soft, you should try your hands in acting.’ And I used to feel like, ‘oh nobody wants me’. So it took a lot of time for me to get zeroed down for my first show.”

Talking of his first show, Grover’s appearance on ‘Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi’ (2004-2005) got his notice, however, it wasn’t until he bagged ‘Dill Mil Gayye’ (2007-2010) where his popularity really grew. After that, he hasn’t looked back where he’s even managed to bag a few big-screen roles too.
