Karan Mehra confirms leaving ‘YRKKH’ on Star Plus

Popular actor Karan Mehra has confirmed to BizAsia that he has quit Star Plus’ longest running show ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’.

Rumours of Mehra leaving the huge show started a few weeks ago but at the time Mehra had denied them. However, yesterday, the speculation re-started and today, Mehra confirmed that he has indeed left ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.

Asked if the rumours were true of his departure, he said, “Yes its true. Will take a much awaited break and come back with better energy.”

When prompted about returning to ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ at a later date, he said “No. Unfortunately chapter closed.”

It will be interesting to see how Mehra will be written out of the show and how it will continue without its lead actor.
