Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ & ‘Dostana 2’ to be shelved due to coronavirus?

Coronavirus has hit the world and its citizens in a big way. As everything comes to a standstill, the entertainment industry is facing a huge impact on its operations and future projects. Bollywood celebrities have been vocal on social media, urging fans to stay indoors, take good care of themselves by washing hands and wearing masks whilst travelling.

Rumour has it that film-maker Karan Johar’s upcoming projects may be dropped considering the current situation. ‘Takht’ stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles whereas ‘Dostana 2’ stars Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor and Laksshya in the lead roles. These multi-starrer movies seem to have been shelved because of the ongoing Coronavirus.

Spotboye reveals a source close to Johar told Bollywood Hungama that, “Takht was already an endangered project, what with controversies regarding its content and the scriptwriter being accused of a communal tweet. Still, Karan may have gone ahead with it. But now with the viral situation, Takht is strictly a no-can-do project for all concerned.”

Announcing the lockdown of his production house, Johar released a statement and said, “In view of the epidemic spread of the COVID-19 virus throughout the world including India, we at Dharma Productions have suspended all administrative and production work until further notice.”
