Karan Johar’s “rapid fire” under pressure?

It seems that the popular rapid fire round on ‘Koffee with Karan’ might be a thing of the past as host Karan Johar is under pressure to stop including the ratings of actresses as he has always done.

The particular part of the round seems to be degrading, according to Sonam Kapoor who said as much during an interview with Rajeev Masand recently. Kapoor didn’t come out and say she meant ‘Koffee with Karan’ but it was quite obvious what she was referring to. Shah Rukh Khan, who was in the opening episode of this season, also thought it wasn’t something Johar should keep continuing with. A source said, according to Deccan Chronicle, “Shah Rukh shows immense respect for women in his films and in real life. He told Karan that asking his guests to rate women according to their looks and talent was not cool. Karan is now under pressure to scrap the rating system from Koffee With Karan, and may soon do away with it”.

The recent fifth season of the show hasn’t been doing very well and it seems it might be a case of Johar having to change the concept a bit if the show is to continue its popularity.
