Karan Johar to remake ‘Bemisaal’ with Aishwarya Rai?

Karan Johar is contemplating the idea of remaking ‘Bemisaal’ (1982), with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in mind as a comeback vehicle for the actress.

‘Bemisaal’, which originally starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee and Vinod Mehra was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. According to sources, Johar has been in talks already with Mrs Bachchan about playing Rakhee’s role.

The source told Daily News New York, “She has been away from films for a while (she last acted in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish, 2010), and we haven’t heard of a confirmation yet from her end. But if all goes well, we will hopefully see her return to the big screen with this.”

If all goes well, this will bring together Bachchan and Johar for the first time. There was talk earlier about Bachchan making a return with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Rebecca’ but this was denied.
