IFFI’s opening ceremony this year featured an interesting moment when Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar and Col Rajyavardhan Rathore, Ministry of State for Information and Broadcasting, came together on stage.

Johar took the opportunity to host a quick rapid fire round between the two personalities, “I have never had a Minister and a Bollywood super star together on both my sides. I don’t know when this will happen again so I should take this mauka (opportunity) for some Q and A.”, Deccan Chronicle reported.

The director was quick to ask Rathore who he would like to star in his own biopic, to which he replied, “I don’t know about the actor, but I would certainly like to have Karan Johar as the director to make the film a super hit.” Kumar inquired what Johar would name the biopic. “Khiladi, what else?”, Johar answered.

Johar posed the same question to Kumar and after some contemplation he picked the perfect actor for his biopic, “I think, Ranveer Singh.”, to which Johar agreed.

Kumar’s film ‘Gold’ (2018) is featured in the IFFI 2018 lineup.
