Karan Johar has successfully donned many hats over the years. Whether it be as director, producer, screenplay writer, chat show host or reality show judge, he has been loved in all his roles. As has been known for quite some time now, Johar will be adding another role to his resume soon as he makes his big screen acting debut with Anurag Kashyap۪s Bombay Velvet۪. What comes as a surprise is that Johar has refused to take any acting fee for his work on the film.
One of the producers of the film, Vikas Bahl, confirmed the news to Deccan Chronicle, saying, Yes, he has not taken any remuneration, because this film is his passion project۪. I think the full team will always be indebted to him.
Few are aware of the fact that Johar acted as a child-artist in the sci-fi TV series, Indradhanush۪. He has also previously done cameo roles in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge۪ (1995) and Luck By Chance۪ (2009). However, Bombay Velvet۪ will be the first time the audience will see him essaying a full-fledged role on the big screen.
Bombay Velvet۪ is slated for release on 28th November. The film also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Raveena Tandon.
