Karan Johar slammed for comments on Anushka Sharma’s character in ‘ADHM’

Once again Karan Johar makes the headlines for all the wrong reasons, this time for openly admitting that he chose to give Anushka Sharma’s character Alizeh cancer in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2017) as “punishment”.

Reported on The International News, the revelations came during an interview, when he was asked why Anushka Sharma’s character – Alizeh was killed off in the film. “Yes, the last track met with many polarised responses and rightfully so, but I was like she didn’t love him, she has to die. I wrote this character. He loved her so crazily. She could’ve loved him back, why couldn’t she? So she got cancer and she died,” said Johar who then added, “Well, she got punished, I wrote it. See, a filmmaker is a God, you write, you create and you destroy.”

This naturally caused an outrage on Twitter, where many took to the platform to express their disgust at such a thought, one person tweeted, “I always found Karan Johar weird but his recent interview states that he isn’t just that but crazy and full of himself! Killing a character just coz she didn’t love the male lead back?! And it’s all coming from a personal experience?? Kya dimaag hai bhai”.
