Karan Johar signs Rohit Shetty for next film

Popular filmmaker Karan Johar has signed director Rohit Shetty for his next film to be released under the Dharma Productions banner.

Johar confirmed the news earlier, “Dharma Productions and Rohit Shetty will come together. All of us in the company are really excited about this association. Rohit is an extremely talented mainstream filmmaker and I am sure, together we will make a very special film. However, nothing is finalized yet. Right now, Rohit has some commitments to finish and once that’s done, we’ll figure that and the cast out. Then, we’ll make the big announcement.”

Shetty added, “I have immense respect for Karan’s father. He is an excellent director himself and a director’s producer. We have met and finalised that we would be doing a film soon. We will decide the set up and other details very soon. I am sure it will be a great experience.”

Further details of the collaboration are yet to be revealed. The film will be going on the floors next year after both parties have completed their outstanding projects.

Shetty has been the brains behind the successful franchise of ‘Golmaal’, plus the huge Boilywood blockbuster ‘Singham’ (2011). He also has ‘Bol Bachchan’ releasing this year. Meanwhile, Johar has already confirmed that he will be collaborating with Ekta Kapoor on a forthcoming film. He releases ‘Student Of The Year’ later this year.
