Karan Johar reiterates ‘Shuddhi’ & ‘Ram Lakhan’ are still happening

FEATURED Karan Johar as Kaizad Khambatta in 'Bombay Velvet'

Karan Johar has recently been in the headlines for its constant new casts and delays of his upcoming releases. Along with ‘Shuddhi’, Johar is also very excited to produce ‘Ram Lakhan,’ a remake of the same name, that will be directed by Rohit Shetty. Johar confirmed that both ‘Shuddhi’ and ‘Ram-Lakhan’ are certainly happening.

According to Pinkvilla, Johar confirmed the latest developments on these projects at an event in Mumbai. “Shuddhi will start soon and Ram-Lakhan will go on floors in early 2016.” After a lot of juggling, Salman Khan was the last actor to be confirmed for ‘Shuddhi’ but he is also busy with two of his upcoming releases, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.’ There were also rumors that Khan would probably start working on YRF’s ‘Sultan,’ but Johar is working overtime in preventing ‘Shuddhi’ from any further delay.

The cast of ‘Ram-Lakhan’ is yet to be finalized, but there is much buzz garnering for the official remake of the 1989 Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff starrer. Johar wrote on Twitter: “While Rohit and I are extremely excited with the excitement RAM LAKHAN has generated…we would like to say…IT HAS NOT BEEN CAST!!!”
