Earlier today, Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to thank Madhuri Dixit for taking on a role which was close to her late mother Sridevi’s heart and confirmed that it was in Abhishek Varman’s next. However, producer Karan Johar has clarified that the film in question isn’t the same project as many think.
Johar explained on Twitter that the film was indeed a Varman directorial but it wasn’t ‘Shiddat’.
Some clarifications!!! Yes…we are honoured and humbled to have @MadhuriDixit on board for @abhivarman ‘s next! NO the film is NOT titled SHIDHAT! Yes the film will Commence shoot in mid April! The films final cast and credits will be announced soon!

This hopefully puts all rumours to rest and it remains to be seen what kind of film it actually is. More details are awaited, as Johar said.
