Karan Johar, who will be making his full-fledged acting debut on the big screen with Anurag Kashyap۪s Bombay Velvet۪, has been in the news recently for apparently rejecting the role of Alia Bhatt۪s father in Vikas Bahl۪s Shandaar۪. The director confirms this news and also says that he feels filmmakers should wait to see him in Bombay Velvet۪ before approaching him to act in their movies.
I was briefly in talks at a very initial stage. I am sure when the cast of Vikas۪s film is announced, it will be a terrific one, but I am not a part of it. I think only once Bombay Velvet۪ releases should people decide on offering me more films. I don۪t think anybody should take a chance till then, Johar told Hindustan Times.
Johar, who has done many cameos on the big screen, was also a television actor in his childhood years.
Bombay Velvet۪, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Raveena Tandon, is slated to release on 28th November 2014.
