Karan Johar has announced details on his upcoming anthology production. Titled ‘Ajeeb Daastaans,’ this next project from Johar is set to be produced by Dharmatic, his sister company that focuses particularly on OTT content.
‘Ajeeb Daastaans’ will have a large cast with confirmation already from Abhishek Banerjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Inayat Verma, Jaideep Ahlawat, Konkona Sen Sharma, Manav Kaul, Nusshrratt Bharuccha and Shefali Shah. There will be four short films which will be all helmed by different filmmakers. The directors are Shashank Khaitan, Raj Mehta, Neeraj Ghaywan and Kayoze Irani, reprots Filmfare.
The storyline of the short films will be fresh and interesting where each film will focus on relationships. The anthology was initially called, ‘The Other’ as of last year. And at the time Johar said, “An anthology allows us to bring together diverse creative minds to showcase different facets of the same concept in a unique manner, and Netflix presents these beautifully. The Other is one such film that delves into the various complexities of human relationships. Each director will bring their unique vision to the table, amalgamating in a piece that many viewers across the world will definitely resonate with.”
