Karan Johar: “I am a big flop actor & nobody should cast me”

Karan Johar is perhaps one of the more recognizable film directors in Bollywood. His directions do bring in audiences to the theatres, but the same cannot be said about his acting. Johar made his acting debut in ‘Bombay Velvet’ (2015) and acted in Sonakshi Sinha’s ‘Welcome to New York’ (2018) as well, but both films fared poorly at the box office, and Johar agrees that he should not be cast in movies.

Johar is producing Madhuri Dixit’s Marathi debut ‘Bucket List’, and when asked if he would like to act in Marathi films, he said, “I am a big flop actor and nobody should cast me in the movie. Producing a Marathi movie was on my bucket list.”

‘Bucket List’ will also star Dixit’s ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’ (1994) co-star Renuka Shahane.
