Karan Johar has shifted the release of his next film ‘Ungli’ to go head on with Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Phata Poster Nikla Hero’ in September.
With the way things stand, it does not look Johar wants to forget about the differences he had with Kapoor hence the clash. According to a tabloid, Johar’s ‘Ungli’ was initially set for release on 6th September but has been postponed to the same day as Kapoor’s film.
Karan and Shahid have not exactly shared a good rapport in the past. They had a clash of sorts when Sasha walked out of Kaal۪. After that they did not work for years only to reunite for Punit Malhotra۪s film. Even then, Shahid walked out of Gori Tere Pyaar Mein۪ at the last minute, only to be replaced by Imran Khan. It seems Karan might have deliberately pushed his film by two weeks to clash with Shahid, a source said.
Johar’s sources have categorically denied the news.
The film has been pushed by two weeks because it would not be ready by that time. Ranbir Kapoor۪s Besharam releases on October 2. It made better business sense to not clash with Ranbir, the source said.
