Karan Johar gives ‘Takht’ a budget of Rs. 250 crore?

Karan Johar is known for his lavish projects, with some of the biggest Bollywood projects over the years. It now seems that the filmmaker will be pulling out all the stops for his upcoming magnum-opus ‘Takht’.

If reports are to be believed, Johar has delved deep into his pockets to hand ‘Takht’ a budget of around Rs. 250 crores. It is said that Johar does not want to cut any corners for this historical drama.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Every star Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednkar and Vicky Kaushal, is being paid his or her market price. They’d have happily taken a cut for Karan’s sake. But Karan insisted on paying them their market price.”

The source added, “Takht could be an even more expensive production. “That’s why Karan was insistent that Ayan announce the release date of the long-delayed Brahmastra before shooting Takht. The release date for Brahmastra is now out (4 December 2020) and Karan starts shooting Takht in March 2020.”
