There was much said about Karan Johar cosying up to Salman Khan in what was being reported as a total snub of his self-proclaimed “family” member, Shah Rukh Khan. Johar has since flat denied that he has signed Salman for a forthcoming film of his.
According to Deccan Chronicle, Johar completely rubbished the allegation, “When you know there is no element of truth in a story, it doesn۪t affect you. I wish people would be more careful about what they write”.
Johar went on to confirm that Rohit Shetty will be directing a movie which will be produced by Dharma Productions. Talking about the casting for said movie, Johar said that none of the cast had been confirmed. “So reports of Salman coming on board for that project are untrue”, he added.
Johar is one of four directors who are a part of the forthcoming ‘Bombay Talkies’. About his particular contribution, he revealed, “I had never done a film of this nature, an omnibus film. When the script was ready, I was sure I wanted to cast Rani Mukerji; the casting director suggested Randeep Hooda and Saqib Saleem. Brevity is not my strength, so these were two obstacles I had to combat”.
