After speculation suggested that Karan Johar was looking to cast Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh for a new film titled ‘Prem Kahani’, the director has dismissed all rumours as untrue.
According to SpotBoyE, a close source to Johar shared he is not looking to make any new films right now, “Karan is not looking at directing any project at the moment. His focus at the moment is on seeing the long-delayed Brahmastra to its completion. All his efforts are going into minimizing the production costs as Brahmastra has gone way over-budget.”
The original ‘Prem Kahani’ (1974) starred Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz and was directed by Raj Khosla, one of Johar’s favourite filmmakers.
‘Brahmastra’ was originally set to release on 4th December 2020, but due to the ongoing pandemic the project was put on hold and is now slated to release later this year. As well as this, Johar also has ‘Takht’ in the pipeline, another project that had to be halted. But it’s not yet confirmed when this film will be completed.
