Karan Johar on being called “pansy” at school

Karan Johar is known to be a very straight forward and confident guy, but this wasn’t always the case. Johar reveals that he was called “pansy” in school, and one of his school teacher’s taught him to be himself. Johar talked about his experience on ‘India’s Next Superstar’ (Star Plus), where he is an judge.

As according to Pinkvilla, Johar said, “The word pansy, which is commonly used for a boy who talks and walks like a girl, was used for me. This performance took me back to my childhood days. I used to dance on girls’ songs and my friends used to make fun of me. Upset about this, I went to an elocution teacher at the age of 13 and she said, ‘Why do you want to change the way you talk, you’re just fine’. That’s when I gathered the courage to face the world. Today if I was still talking like that I wouldn’t change it. Even if one of my kids talk or walk like that, I wouldn’t change them.”

‘India’s Next Superstar’ is also judged by Rohit Shetty, and anchored by Karan Wahi and Rithvik Dhanjani.
