Kapoor and Bachchan families to walk ramp for Mijwan

Shabana Azmi holds an annual charitable fashion show Mijwan, in the name of her late father, Kaifi Azmi’s hometown. Kaifi Azmi was passionate about educating girls in his small village of Mijwan, Uttar Pradesh. Not only did he want all the daughters of Mijwan to be able to get an education, but all the women who weren’t able to. With this in mind, daughter Shabana holds the Mijwan fashion show every year to help girls living in rural areas get an education. There are many Bollywood celebrities who walk the ramp and lend their support to the noble cause. This year, Anil Kapoor’s family, and Jaya and Abhishek Bachchan will be walking the ramp.

Times Of India reports that the theme of this year’s Mijwan show will be ‘legacy,’ perfectly apt for all the famous families who will walk the ramp. Anil Kapoor, daughter Sonam, and Boney Kapoor and son Arjun will represent their Kapoor legacy, while Jaya and Abhishek Bachchan, and Javed and Farhan Akhtar will also be giving their support.

The Mijwan fashion show has been taking place for the last four years, and the cause was also highlighted at last year’s ‘IIFA Awards’ held in Tampa, Florida. Manish Malhotra has been a popular designer for the show, incorporating designs of the many girls that the Mijwan Foundation supports. Other celebrities to have walked the ramp are Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, and Dia Mirza.
