Kapil Sharma yet to approve three scripts

When filmmaker Rajiv Dhingra narrated the story that he had in mind for ‘Love Punjab’, comedian-actor Kapil Sharma immediately decided to come on board as producer.

The film was to be set in India and Canada and Sharma was keen to act in it as well. But then he got busy with his forthcoming comedy show and decided to bow out of the project, saying they should wait for the right time to collaborate.

‘Love Punjab’ was made with Punjabi actor-singer Amrinder Gill in the lead with Sharma recording a special song, ‘Akhiyan De Taarein’, which showed what the boy was going through after his parents file for divorce in Canada and how he yearns to return home to Punjab. Now, a year later Dhingra has once again got together with Sharma on a character-driven story he is scripting. “It is about an underdog with Kapil in the lead. And since he is an actor of the masses with a national fan following, we have decided to make this film in Hindi,” informs Dhingra, according to Mumbai Mirror.

Dhingra is also juggling with two other scripts, which he has discussed with Sharma. He says, “They will be emotional comedies. We have to decide which one will roll first.”
