Kanika Kapoor to perform live song to welcome Modi to UK

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to be welcomed to the UK this week and he will be spending Diwali in the British capital. To mark the occasion and what will be Modi’s first visit as Prime Minister, a song has been produced dedicated to India and the UK’s friendship.

Keerthi Mathur has produced the song which is sung by Kanika Kapoor. Mathur told TOI, “Easy to sing along, this retro feel song with a nostalgic ‘Ye Dosti’ (Sholay) start and an upbeat Bhangra end will be performed by Kanika Kapoor live at Wembley Stadium next week and is a perfect way to mark this iconic moment which will go down in history.”

Modi will be addressing an audience of approximately 60,000 people on 13th November.
