Kanika Kapoor says songs don’t belong to singers today
Kanika Kapoor is, especially thanks to the last few years, a well-known name in the Bollywood film fraternity having lent her voice to some popular tracks. However, she says she still feels singers are not appreciated these days.
Playback singers don۪t get their due because I feel it۪s more about the actors and the actresses than singers. In the west, it۪s more about the singers. But it۪s very difficult here (in India), said the Babydoll singer, according to Indian Express.
She added, Today when you sing a song, it belongs to the actress and not singers. So again, it۪s the industry and it۪s about each filmmaker to give us that branding and that importance.
Kapoor has been a muse for fashion designers before but when asked about making the transition towards acting, she replied, I have got many offers (for acting), but I believe in quality work. If I get some amazing work, then I will do it. It۪s not a no-no. I will try, but it has to be interesting.
