Kangna refuses to promote ‘Manikarnika’ unless movie crew is paid

As shooting for Kangna Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ almost comes to an end and the team start planning the promotional activities, there is a chance Ranaut may not participate in the promotions.

According to NewsX, it has been reported that the makers of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ have not yet paid the movie crew. Ranaut soon learned about the situation and at a recent media interaction at the Chopard event, made it very clear that unless the movie crew got its due, she will not be participating in the film’s promotions.

The movie crew was promised that it would receive payment at the end of October, but after a month on this still hasn’t happened. The crew event went to the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees to get help with matters. Ranaut has expressed her disappointment and explained that she does not agree with these sorts of practices. Further adding that actors tend to receive unnecessary attention while the labourers and technician are devalued in the industry.

Ranuat concluded that she is certain that Zee Studios, who is financing the movie will ensure it will resolve all complaints as its a big name and would risk giving itself a bad reputation if not dealt with.

Directed by Krish, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi’ is slated to release on the 25th January 2019.
