Kangna: “Rangoon is not based on any living or dead person”
Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’ is currently in a spot of bother around Kangna Ranuat’s character in the film, which is said to be loosely based on actress-stunt woman ‘Fearless Nadia’.
Reported in Pinkvilla, Wadia Movietone Pvt Ltd have filed a lawsuit against Bhardwaj on the grounds of copyright infringement. They say that Ranaut’s character is based on a well know Australian stunt actor Mary Evans.
Ranaut who was asked about this said, “I think there is some legal hassle around that. First of all, we cannot comment on a matter when it’s already in the court, but we can assure you that it’s not based on any living or dead person.”
She further added that ‘Rangoon’ is “completely a fictional story” and the “characters are fictional as well”.
A film based around World War 2, releases this Friday, and also stars Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor.
