Kangna Ranaut to play modern aged ‘Heer’

If news is to be believed, filmmaker Aanand L Rai has hopes to rope��in actress Kangna Ranaut for his next venture which is said to be a contemporary version of the classic ‘Heer-Ranjha’ narrations.

Currently working with Ranaut on the sequel to ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ (2011), according to��Bollywood Hungama, Rai decided he wants the actress for his new project as he felt she has what it takes to play the character of ‘Heer’ as she would be today.

The report goes onto say that though Rai is still in the early stages of writing the script, this particular role will be a very complex one. However it will be a while before the director can make any further announcements. With the schedule of ‘Tanu Weds Manu 2’ taking up a lot of time, and Ranaut going onto do to a number of other projects, it looks like this tragic love story of Rai’s will have to wait.
