Kangna Ranaut to gain weight for Jayalalitha biopic?

Kangna Ranaut is not one to hold back for her roles, and if her filmography is anything to go by, she’s all for playing the strong and bold woman. So it comes to no surprise that she has signed a film, which tells the story of veteran South actress Jayalalitha, who eventually become Tami Nadu’s Chief Minister. However, reports suggest that the role may require her to put on the pounds.

Directed by A.L. Vijay, the film is set to be bilingual. Despite the reports of Ranaut’s preparations for the film, her spokesperson has said she will not have to under-go any weight change. “The film will begin with Jayalalitha’s childhood, her journey into films and end with her becoming the chief minister of Tamil Nadu for the first time. So, there’s no need to gain weight; In fact, she will be seen in a glamorous role,” Asian Age reports them stating.

In the meantime the actress is currently in the midst of shooting for Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Panga’.
