The sequel to Vidya Balan starrer ‘Ishqiya’ (2010) has been in the news since Madhuri Dixit-Nene had been signed for the project. There was also news that Kangna Ranaut was also roped in for the film, ‘Dedh Ishqiya’. However, it seems Ranaut has been replaced by none other than Huma Qureshi.
As reported by Mid-Day, a source revealed, “Director Abhishek Chaubey has taken his own time to finish the script of Dedh Ishqiya…He wanted to start the film only after he was sure of the script. Now that it is ready and the cast has been locked, it is ready to roll out. Earlier Kangs was signed for the film but there was a problem regarding her dates…”
Richa Chadda, who also starred with Qureshi in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ (2012), was also in the running for the role. The source continued, “Huma was selected since she had already worked with Vishal in Kannan Iyer۪s next. The shoot starts on February 18 in Lucknow”.
