There is a scene in the trailer of Madhur Bhandarkar۪s Heroine۪ in which the character played by Kareena Kapoor is seen reporting being assaulted by her boyfriend at a police station. Buzz is that actress Kangna Ranaut is mighty annoyed with this scene as she feels director Bhandarkar has based it on an incident that happened in her life.
Kangna is extremely close to Madhur and had worked with him in Fashion۪. However, she never expected that Madhur would recreate a scene from her real life and use it in the film, said a source to Mid Day.
A few years ago Ranaut was said to be having a torrid affair with a much married, temperamental actor (Aditya Pancholi). Apparently, Pancholi had physically manhandled and assaulted Ranaut and she had filed an official complaint. Sources that have watched Heroine۪ claim that the scene is blatantly inspired from the disturbing incident that took place in Ranaut۪s life.
Producers UTV and Bhandarkar remained unavailable for comment when asked about the brewing controversy.
Heroine۪ recounts the story of a small town girl and her rise to super stardom, how the fame and adulation gets to her head and her subsequent fall to ruin. Along with Kapoor it also stars Arjun Rampal, Mughda Godse, Randeep Hooda, Ranvir Shorey & Helen. It releases worldwide on 21st September.
