Kangna Ranaut & Hugh Grant to star in Ketan Mehta’s next?

Kangna Ranaut has been confirmed in Ketan Mehta’s next based on the warrior queen, Lakshmi Bai. However, word has it that the actress could star alongside Hollywood actor, Hugh Grant in the Indo-British production.

Hindustan Times reports that the character of General Hugh Rose could be played by Grant. Meanwhile, Ranaut will undergo heavy-duty training in horse riding, sword-fighting and other warfare skills for almost a year, before she starts shooting.

Ranaut is quite familiar with the character as she studied Lakshmi Bai whist at school. The report adds that she also loved Ketan’s script and was impressed with the amount of research that had been undertaken.

Ketan told the newspaper, “Yes, Kangana is on board. I always wanted to make The Rising as a trilogy. So, this film will be the second part after Mangal Pandey (2005). I am very excited.”
