Kangna Ranaut heads to NYC Broadway to prep for ‘Rangoon’

Kangna Ranaut is believed to be spending a few weeks in NYC as an understudy as part of a Broadway musical as prep for her next film.

Method acting and actual research is something very few actors boast of. One of those who proudly can is Ranaut. It is believed that the actress, who is known for doing all she can to get under the skin of her character, will be spending a few weeks in New York as a Broadway musical production understudy to perfect her character for Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Rangoon’. The film is a musical centered on the key character of Julia, which will be essayed by Ranaut.

An insider source reveals, “After the super success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns all eyes are on Kangna Ranaut’s next project. Apart from Nikhil Advani’s Katti Batti, she is soon going to start shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj’s Rangoon, which was earlier called Julia. Kangna plays the lead character of Julia in the film which is a Broadway style musical, where she will be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor. Interestingly, to understand the nuances of Broadway, Kangna is all set to visit New York to be an understudy at one of the world’s biggest Broadway musical productions.”

Known to not only play her character to the tee, but also to really live and breathe it, Ranaut is not going to leave any stone unturned. She is set to master the Broadway vibe, and unleash it upon her character’s style, thus ensuring the film gets its due from both a setting and performance point of view.

Bhardwaj in currently working out dates for the lead actors Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor for ‘Rangoon’.
