Kangna Ranaut was over the moon after winning the 62nd National Film Award for Best Actress for ‘Queen’ (2014). This is the second national award that Ranaut will be getting as previously she won a national award for best supporting actress in ‘Fashion’ (2008).

Ranaut said that it was the best birthday gift for her. She told Hindustan Times, “I was in a state of flux all morning. I could neither sit, nor stand nor shoot. My entire concentration had gone for a toss. I was wondering what to do with that piece of information I had heard over the phone. I kept wondering whether it was true, false or whether my ears were just ringing. Anyway, by noon messages came and then the reality of it all sunk in. Wow, what do I say? I’m happy, elated, over the moon and thank everyone who believed in me.”

Adding further, the actress said that someone from her team told her that she might win a National Award for ‘Queen’, however she did not give much importance to it. Never in her imagination had she thought that she would be a recipient of the award.

Talking about the film, it was based on the story of a girl who after being ditched by her fianc̩e just a day before the marriage, goes on a honeymoon alone.

As of now, Ranaut is busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ which will hit theatres on 31st May.
