Kangna on threats by Karni Sena against ‘Manikarnika’: “I will destroy each one of them”

Kangna Ranaut is one actress who is not one to take things laying down! After ‘Padmaavat’ was targeted by the Karni Sena earlier this year, its now the turn of Ranaut’s upcoming release ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ being picked on.

Talking to PinkVilla, Ranaut hit back at the threats by the Karni Sena, saying, “Four historians have certified Manikarnika, we have got censor certificate as well, Karni Sena has been conveyed this but they are continuing to harass me if they don’t stop then they should know I am also a Rajput and I will destroy each one of them.”

It was reported earlier by Mid-Day that the national head of the Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Shekhavat, that the group wanted to watch the film before release or face the consequences. He said, “Time and again, we have seen that filmmakers try to take liberties by showing certain scenes [with the purpose of] adding titillation. We won’t tolerate such nonsense. We had raised concerns in February last year. Despite the Supreme Court judgement, we didn’t allow Padmaavat to release in many states. Manikarnika will face the same consequence. We have requested the producers to show us the film before its release. If they release it [without showing it to us], we will damage property [theatres, here] and won’t be liable for it.”

‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ releases on 25th January 2019.
