Kangana Ranaut’s sister accuses ‘Saand Ki Ankh’ makers for ageism

It seems that when it comes to controversial topics, Rangoli Chandel isn’t too far away from the commotion. This time the Ranaut sister has accused the makers of ‘Saand Ki Ankh’ for ageism, after the trailer of the film shows lead actresses Taapsee Pannuu and Bhumi Pednekar playing older characters.

Apparently Kangana Ranaut was first offered one of the roles, however she advised the makers to take on an older actress like Neena Gupta instead. Taking to social media site Twitter, replying to a tweet Gupta referred to in her comment, the Ranaut sister expressed, “Neena ji Kangana was offered this movie and she loved the true story of Grandmom’s achievements she suggested yours and Ramya Krishnan ma’am’s name for lead roles but these men can’t remove deeply rooted sexism from their filthy brains…”

She went on to add, “We will never have a Meryl Streep in India if we keep shamelessly displaying older women phobia like this… shame on you all Bolly filth… for promoting sexism in the name of feminism …”
