Kangana Ranaut receives second legal notice over farmers’ protest tweet

Kangana Ranaut’s feud with Diljit Dosanjh continues over the misidentification of an elderly Sikh woman who participated at the farmers’ protest as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh, but instead was Mahinder Kaur; continues to dig herself deeper in more legal trouble.

Reported on Mid-Day, over the last few days, alongside the many Punjabi artists who have come out in support of Dosanjh, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee have also sent a clear message to Ranaut and have served a legal notice on Friday (4th December) seeking an unconditional apology from the ‘Queen’ (2013) actor. The President of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, Maninder Sirsa, said that the ‘Panga’ (2020) actor’s tweets aimed at the farmers were “derogatory” for portraying them as being “anti-national” just because they are standing up for their rights.

This legal notice is the second one of the week, following the first to be served by a lawyer from Punjab’s Zirakpur town.

Many are standing in solidarity with Dosanjh, the likes of Richa Chadha, Swara Bhasker, Taapsee Pannu, Alankrita Shrivastava, Jaz Dhami and Jaswinder Singh Bains, have all expressed their support on Twitter for the ‘Soorma’ (2018) actor.
