Kamya Punjabi responds Rahul Raj Singh’s allegations

Kamya Punjabi has caused quite a stir with the teaser of a film based on her late friend, Pratyusha Banerjee’s life.

Earlier today, BizAsiaLive.com reported that Banerjee’s ex-boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh had slammed Punjabi for the way the film had been made, including references to a character called Rahul in the film. He had filed an official complaint to the police regarding this.

Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Punjabi said, “This isn’t about him. He is using the film’s release to promote himself. Hum Kuchh Kah Na Sakey is about my dear friend Pratyusha and the serious issue of depression. The film is about the numerous people that suffer from depression and is an attempt to tell them that there is a way out of it.”

She also pointed out that she wasn’t doing it for her own gains, which Singh had claimed. She said, “I have a certain reputation in the industry. I don’t need a dead friend to garner publicity. Everything I have earned over the years is through hard work and through my strong body of work — which is enough for me.”

‘Hum Kuchh Kah Na Sakey’ releases on 1st April.
